Archer Preview: Season 3, Episode 10 - Space Race: Part 2

All goods things must come to an end. It's a cliche but that doesn't make it less true. The fantastic third season of FX animated series Archer is all but over with last week's “Space Race: Part 1" marking the beginning of the end. The first part saw Archer, the field agents and a few extra ISIS stowaways make the journey to the final frontier in order to quell a mutiny aboard International Space Station Horizon. Unfortunately for them, they were unwittingly aiding the actual mutineers who are set on terra forming and, now that they have them some sweet ISIS women, colonizing Mars. Oops. So, how will they deal with that, uh, minor misstep in “Space Race: Part 2?”

The preview shows pretty much what you'd expect to see after last week's encounter with the treasonous astronauts. Archer and the rest of the ISIS team are first held captive by Drake (Bryan Cranston) until they manage to escape and fight back. And fighting back includes Archer mucking around in an Aliens inspired power loader. Awesome. On top of that amazing image, we also get the return of one of the best guest voices to grace the series in Cranston which not only makes the season finale highly anticipated but suitably epic. Sure the end is still regrettable but at least FX and Adam Reed are sending us off in style.

While most people will be lamenting the loss of The Walking Dead (whose finale aired last night) and pining for its return, I personally don't know what I'm going to do without a weekly dose of code name Duchess. Archer is probably the funniest show on television and if you need any more proof, just look at the hard work put into the synopses for the season's final two part space saga - this week "Archer and his colleagues at ISIS wish they had never voyaged to the final frontier in an effort to prevent a catastrophe on the International Space Station" while last week "Archer and his colleagues at ISIS voyage to the final frontier in an effort to prevent a catastrophe on the International Space Station" (official synopsis via the Archer Website). I can't be the only one that finds their similarity funny, right?

Archer airs Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on FX. It stars H. Jon Benjamin, Aisha Tyler, Jessica Walters, Judy Greer, Chris Parnell and Amber Nash. It was created by Adam Reed.
