Archer Season 3 Preview: The Man From Jupiter
Archer's third season premieres this Thursday night. After the amazing three-part special in September, our favorite foul mouthed secret agent is finally returning to FX and for those who haven't been watching, what's wrong with you? Do you not like funny? Sorry. For those that are behind on one of the funniest animated comedies on TV - or fans who haven't purchased them just yet - can play catch-up by buying the first two seasons on DVD or Blu-ray for half-price on Amazon. Make it quick because the online sale closes the day after the premiere.
It preparation for the big premiere of "The Man From Jupiter" this week, FX has been 'buying' some expensive advertising time to showcase the third season of the show. In a common sense move the network turned to its parent and aired a few 'Archer only on FX' TV spots during Fox's Animation Domination block last night. The spots, three in total, are very brief but offer the perfect tease for the upcoming season, especially since two of them highlight the most important guest star to appear on the series thus far... the man, the legend and Archer's hero, Burt Reynolds. Take a look at the spot below and for the two others visit the Archer YouTube page.
The network also just uploaded a full scene from - what I assume is - the season premiere that has Archer searching for a terrorist and an ocelot on a moving train. Interrupted mid-search, the spy is forced to use, well, force to ensure that one of the train's employees doesn't do anything to interfere with his search and the successful apprehension of both the fugitive and the escaped feline. Yeah, I don't know why there's an ocelot on the loose either and, of course, not everything goes completely according to plan...
Archer Season 3 returns January 19 at 10p.m. ET on FX. It stars H. Jon Benjamin, Aisha Tyler, Jessica Walters, Judy Greer, Chris Parnell and Amber Nash. It was created by Adam Reed.
