Arrow Episode 3 - Lone Gunman
Arrow has had a pretty solid start in terms of both quality and quantity, not only delivering two entertaining episodes but also bringing in great numbers for The CW. The second installment, "Honor Thy Father," managed to soften some of the pilot's stiffness as well as introduce the first villain culled from the DC Comics Universe. And the second trend will continue this week as another comic book bad guy is coming to Starling City.
Despite the typo that has been floating around, tomorrow's episode of Arrow is titled "Lone Gunman" not "Lone Gunmen." That does make a little more sense, unless the network was taking the same naming approach as the band in Airheads. Look it up. The "Lone Gunman" in question, as the preview will soon tell you in big block letters, is DC's most accurate assassin Deadshot. Take a look at the preview which features the popular villain setting his sights on Oliver Queen..
It looks like "Lone Gunman" certainly won't be short on action, a great sign since the fight sequences are easily what Arrow does best, at least at this early stage in the game. It's also nice to see the writers continue to inject a bit of light into the otherwise gritty universe (full of no holds barred killing) with Oliver's Arrow and his opponents often throwing Spider-Man-like quips in mid battle. "I admire your work!" Arrow returns with Episode 3, "Lone Gunman," Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
