Awkward Season 3, Episode 3 Promo Has Jenna Putting Herself Out There

Awkward returned to MTV last night with two back-to-back episodes, drawing us back into the dramatic world of Jenna Hamilton just in time for a good old-fashioned pregnancy scare. If you haven't seen the Season 3 premiere (or the episode that followed), consider yourself spoiler warned! Jenna's relationship with Matty has once again hit rocky territory, but that's not her only problem. Tamara is clearly in the throws of a passionate relationship with Jake, which seems to have drawn her away from her friendship with Jenna. That seems normal enough, but will the problem persist? It seems like it could be one of the recurring issues of the season.

The preview for Episode 3 appears to focus, at least in part, on Jenna's father's perception of his daughter's relationship. It looks like he finds out Jenna's on the pill and has put two and two together. And then Matty moves in with them? Huh? This reminds me of the time Dylan got hurt in that surfing accident and had to stay at the Walsh house and things got really tense for everyone. Except in this case, the Europe trip already happened and Brenda Jenna wasn't the one to go. But her best friend did end up with her other boyfriend, come to think of it… The parallels here are almost mind-boggling. And yes, I'm referencing the original Beverly Hills, 90210. My adolescence happened in the 90s. Sometimes watching Awkward takes my brain in that direction.

Also coming up, Jenna interacts with the observant and noticeably good-looking new kid. And she's about to discuss how she lost her virginity at an open mic-night? Normally, I'd say overshare, but Jenna's way past that at this point, so if she wants to put herself out there and regale a coffee house with tales of sex in a summer camp broom closet, I say go for it. Something dramatic will surely come of it.

Awkward airs Tuesdays at 10:00 p.m. ET on MTV.
