Aziz Ansari Enlists Seth Rogen's Help Promoting His Netflix Comedy Special Buried Alive
As the above promo suggests, Aziz Ansari's new comedy special is coming to a bag of Bugles near you, via flash drive! No, sorry, that's not right. It's not coming to Toaster Strudel either, though those are two reasonable ways to promote a comedy special. And we have Seth Rogen to credit for such creative ideas. Alas, Aziz Ansari: Buried Alive is coming to Netflix at the start of November. The promo eventually gets to that, until Seth Rogen brings it back to Bugles. Anyone else craving Bugles?
As the above description mentions, Ansari's previous stand-up performances are already available on Netflix. That includes Aziz Ansari: Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening and Aziz Ansari: Dangerously Delicious. And if you're a Parks and Recreation fan you can catch Aziz in his scripted role as the super-swag having Tom in the NBC comedy, the first four seasons of which are also on Netflix. So it seems Netflix already has a sizable catalog of Ansari's recent work, which makes the streaming video service the perfect home for his next comedy special. And this is yet another indication that Netflix is continuing to expand on its original programming.
In addition to the above promo, Netflix has also released this new key art, which shows the comedian and actor staring 30 down like a deer in the headlights. Literally.
"30 comes at you fast."
Aziz Ansari: Buried Alive is set to debut on Netflix on November 1. Netflix may offer a preview or two of the actual special between now and then. In the meantime, here's a clip from his Dangerously Delicious special.
