Baby Carrots Commercials Demand Your Extreme Attention

Baby carrots are sexy. Baby carrots are extreme. Baby carrots are futuristic. Baby carrots are awesome! Hey, if the marketing strategy is good enough for perfume and soft drinks, why can’t it also be used for baby carrots?

I actually try to avoid commercials much like I often avoid vegetables, however the baby carrots ad, which is brought to us by “a bunch of carrot farmers” caught my attention while I was waiting for Glee to come on and I have to admit, it’s making me want to crack open an ice cold bag of baby carrots.

Apparently, there’s a whole series of these ads…

I think the thing I like the most is the fact that they’re singling out the “baby” carrots as opposed to the grown-up ones because let's face it, regular carrots really haven’t been all that cool since Bugs Bunny hopped onto the scene more than half a century ago. All the same, I can appreciate a good, attention-grabbing ad campaign when I see one and this one reminds me of the famous Got Milk campaign, which set out to advertise a brandless item, similar to what these “bunch of carrot farmers” are trying to do.
