Bingo Vaulting Out Of Your Grandmother’s House

Old people love ‘Bingo’. This is not a hypothesis but rather, a fact. I suspect it has something to with the simplicity of the rules; however, scientists are yet to decipher why. On Thursday, the old people running ABC proved exactly how much they love it by green lighting an adaptation of the church staple to premiere in May.

Zap2it.com is reporting that ‘National Bingo Night’ will feature a contestant playing against everyone in the studio audience. If the player hits a ‘Bingo’ first, he will win money; however, if someone in the crowd lucks into five spaces in a row first, the entire audience will split the loot. I could be wrong here, but wouldn’t the audience win almost every time? It’s not like the contestants are going to be any more talented than the viewers. All you really need to play ‘Bingo’ is some basic reading skills, a ten minute attention span, and a lot of blind luck.

‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’ carpenter Ed Sanders has signed on to host. Sanders has some previous hosting experience as he took over comedian Joe Rogan’s responsibilities in the British ‘Fear Factor’ version.
