Bobby Flay And Giada De Laurentiis May Team Up For A Daytime Talk Show

Could celebrity chefs Bobby Flay and Giada De Laurentiis be teaming up for a syndicated daytime talk show? That's the word on the internet today, though it doesn't sound like anything's official yet. But given the success of their Food Channel talk shows, and their popularity among foodies it seems like it might be the next logical step for both of them.

Deadline is reporting that CBS TV Distribution is finalizing a deal with Flay and De Laurentiis to develop a syndicated daytime talk show, which is expected to be "in the vein of Live With Regis & Kelly. By that, perhaps day time chatter with a food focus? It seems likely that their appreciation for the culinary arts will factor into the show in some way. The aim would be to get the series on the air during Fall 2013.

As the site notes, Bobby Flay and Giada both received Daytime Emmy nominations for their Food channel series. While Flay's currently battling a barbecue addiction at the cable network with Bobby Flay's Barbecue Addiction, Giada continues to share her flare for Italian cuisine with Giada at Home. They've also served as judges on Food Network's Food Network Star, which might have helped them test their on-screen chemistry together. Both are certainly charismatic and knowledgable enough in their craft to make for great TV show hosts, so it should be interesting to see what happens when they're paired up to host their own show, should this all work out.

Assistant Managing Editor

Kelly put her life-long love of movies, TV and books to greater use when she joined CinemaBlend as a freelance TV news writer in 2006, and went on to serve as the site’s TV Editor before joining the staff full-time in 2011 and moving over to other roles at the site. At present, she’s an Assistant Managing Editor who spends much of her time brainstorming and editing features, analyzing site data, working with writers and editors on content planning and the workflow, and (of course) continuing to obsess over the best movies and TV shows (those that already exist, and the many on the way). She graduated from SUNY Cortland with BA in Communication Studies and a minor in Cinema Studies. When she isn't working, she's probably thinking about work, or reading (or listening to a book), and making sure her cats are living their absolute best feline lives.
