Bradley Whitford won an Emmy for his role in The West Wing and yet, I still associate him for his roles as the cheating boyfriend in Adventures in Babysitting and his part in Billy Madison. Whitford has done plenty of work since then, and since his West Wing days, with a starring role in The Good Guys and various other TV appearances. He’s also set to appear in the much anticipated upcoming Drew Goddard directed (and Joss Whedon co-written) horror The Cabin in the Woods.

?Whitford may be headed to Fox next, assuming things go well for the Josh Friedman written drama pilot The Asset. According to Deadline, Whitford has landed a starring role in the project, opposite the previously cast Ali Larter. The pilot follows Anna King (Larter), a photographer leading a secret life as a CIA field operative. Whitford has been cast to play Leo, “the Station Chief of the New York City CIA who is King’s biggest supporter.”

While I may associate him with the villain-type roles he played in some of the films of my youth, Whitford has certainly evolved as an actor since then and it isn’t difficult to envision him as a higher-up and a supportive boss in a CIA drama. We’ll have to wait and see whether Fox decides to move forward on this one.
