Bunheads' Bailey Buntain Headed To The Middle For A Guest Spot

The latest bit of casting news for the upcoming fourth season of ABC's family-focused comedy The Middle gives us a hint of what's in store for the middle Middle child Sue Heck, whose social awkwardness and enthusiasm is one of my favorite things about the series. One of the dancers on Bunheads is headed over to The MIddle for a guest spot.

EW has reported that Bunheads ballerina Bailey Buntain is set to guest star on The Middle, in an arc that has her teamed up with Eden Sher's adorably dorky Sue. Buntain will play the role of Jenna, a new freshman at school, who is being mentored by Sue. But as it turns out, Jenna doesn't really need any help becoming popular. And it's probably a good thing too, as Sue wouldn't be the first person I'd nominate to help her out in that endeavor.

Buntain's credits are currently limited to her role as Ginny Thompson on ABC Family's ballet/dance-focused drama Bunheads, so a spot on The MIddle should give her a bit of network TV exposure. And her character description for The Middle sounds like a fun one. I'll be especially curious to see whether becoming popular makes her a foe to Sue in some way, as Sue has never had much success in finding a seat at the cool table.

The Middle returns for Season 4 and its Wednesday spot kicking off ABC's comedy block on September 26 at 8:00 p.m.
