Burn Notice Renewed For Season 7
USA's action drama Burn Notice is currently airing its sixth season, and today comes word that the network has renewed the series for Season 7. Not only does this mean more than a dozen episodes added to the series, but the order will bring the show to its 100-episode milestone early in in Season 7.
USA announced today that they have given Burn Notice a 13-episode order for Season 7. The current (sixth) season will finish up this year with its 98th episode, which means when Burn Notice returns for Season 7, it will be very close to that 100-episode milestone.
Burn Notice stars Jeffrey Donovan, Gabrielle Anwar, Bruce Campbell and Sharon Gless, and follows a spy who was issued a burn notice, which cut him off from all of his contacts. The series began with Donovan's Michael Westen returning to his hometown in Miami, Florida to regroup and try to figure out who burned him. In addition to unraveling that mystery, the series has him working with his friend Sam Axe (Campbell) and ex-girlfriend Fiona (Anwar) on private investigator cases, which puts them in dangerous situations. The series is suspenseful and action-packed, but also includes a bit of humor, finding the lighter side to spy-life in a way that's fitting to the tone of USA's programming.
Burn Notice gets solid ratings at USA, currently bringing in more than 4 million viewers per episode, so the renewal isn't especially surprising, but fans of Michael, Fiona, Sam and Madeline are likely to be celebrating this news regardless. The show joins Suits, White Collar and Necessary Roughness among the dramas USA is bringing back next year.
