Bush May Put Fox News Reporters On The Payroll
If you’re still buying in to the whole “fair and balanced” slogan for Fox News, maybe this will finally wake you up. President Bush is considering hiring Fox News reporters to replace departed press secretary Scott McClellan.
McClellan began serving as the White House deputy press secretary in 2001. He took over the top job of press secretary after Ari Fleischer got tired of lying and spinning and quit in 2003. McClellan announced he was done pushing info at the press this week.
Fox News reporters Dan Senor and Tony Snow are two of the names in consideration for the job. Both have experience serving as the President’s indirect mouthpiece over at Fox News, but they’ve also worked directly for him before. Senor used to be the spokesperson for the Coalition Provisional Authority in Iraq and Snow used to be a Bush speechwriter. Whatever happened to unbiased journalism??
To be fair, Fox News isn’t the only place being potentially culled for positions in the Bush regime. Victoria Clarke, one of the talking heads on CNN’s “Situation Room” was approached to take the job. But because she’s a real journalist, her immediate response was “not happening”.
