The CW Fall 2012-2013 Schedule Shifts Almost Everything, Promises Gossip Girl's OMFG Final Season
Though a lot of familiar shows will be returning to the CW for the upcoming 2012-2013 season, you might have to look a lot harder to find them. In addition to introducing three new hourlong series, with two more planned for midseason, the CW shuffled the nights and times of nearly all of its current programming-- only The Vampire Diaries is staying put, at 8 p.m. on Thursday nights. 90210 and Gossip Girl will now be paired on Monday nights, Hart of Dixie has moved to Tuesdays where it will lead in to new series Emily Owens M.D., and Supernatural has moved out of the Friday-night dumping grounds to a prime spot at 9 p.m. on Wednesdays.
The new shows that haven't made the fall cut is The Carrie Diaries, the Sex and the City spinoff starring AnnaSophia Robb, and Cult, a drama about an investigative journalist investigating his brother's disappearance-- both are scheduled to debut in the midseason. Also absent from the lineup is The Selection, a pilot ordered by the network back in February that starred Aimee Teegarden and Ethan Peck and was set in a futuristic society. The premise sounded interesting, and with CW producing it themselves it seemed guaranteed a spot on the lineup, but something apparently didn't work out in the process.
Below is the complete new CW lineup, with the new shows in all-caps. Come back later today for links to preview pages and lots more details for all of the new shows.
