Carly Rae Jepsen To Sing Her Heart Out On The CW's 90210
About 90% of being into music is finding out about an artist early, and the CW’s 90210 wants to capitalize on their epic score at the end of Season 4, when producers Patti Carr and Lara Olsen used Carly Rae Jepsen’s hit pop song “Call Me Maybe” “in last season’s finale before it was a national sensation.” The boost Jepsen got from the CW’s use of her song may have helped it a little on the popularity front, and now 90210 wants to bring her back for a special guest stint.
Jepsen will join the popular teen show during its Season 5 premiere, set to air on October 8. According to TV Line, the heavily-fringed singer will be promoting her new album as the main act at Adrianna’s Las Vegas premiere. Unfortunately, her rocking performance will get interrupted when news of a car crash reaches the ears of the 90210 crew. Despite the interruption, Jepsen should be good for a live performance, although it is hard to tell how things will go if the show decides to give her a few actual lines.
There’s no word yet on what song Jepsen will be playing off her upcoming album, but I’m guessing the track will be extremely catchy and if fans are lucky, another big hit everyone else discovers months after the 90210 faithful.
The new season of 90210 premieres Monday, October 8 at 8 p.m. ET on the CW.
