Casting News: Heroes Adds More Daring Doers
NBC’s hit show ‘Heroes’ is already gearing up for the continuation of Volume 2. Recently we brought you snazzy info on the possible casting of ‘Alias’ alum David Anders assuming some sort of role on the show. NBC has announced that Anders, along with six others, have been cast to round out the list of new heroes.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Anders will be taking on the role of samurai warrior Takezo Kensei. For the 12 people not watching ‘Heroes’ Kensei is an ancient warrior from Japan whose adventures were shared with Hiro Nakamura by his father. Hiro was inspired by this noble warrior and spent a good chunk of the season on a journey to obtain Kensei’s sword. The question you have to ask is…David Anders? This particular casting calls into question Kensei’s true origins. Is it possible that Kensei was not a Japanese warrior, but instead a western warrior who came to Japan as a military consultant? Then he fell in love with the people, there was a ninja attack during a party, and he ended up as the last samurai in the land?
We don’t know much about the other characters as of yet, but here are the casting details you crave from a “Casting News” story from TV Blend. Barry Shabaka Henley will be playing a New York police officer named Detective Fuller. Holt McCallany is on board as the leader of some Irish thugs who possibly like “dags.” Eriko Tamura, a Japanese pop star, will portray a Japanese princess. No doubt she’ll be a hot princess that Hiro lusts after and will provide much comedy and heartwarming moments from everyone’s favorite hero. Lyndsy Fonseca and Dianna Agron play more hot cheerleaders who may or may not get into cheer dance fights with Claire.
We’ll bring you more details on ‘Heroes’ casting – and maybe other shows if we’re feeling like sharing the info that comes across our mahogany desks – when it becomes available. For now I’ll just try to imagine Julian Sark as a samurai warrior.
