The summer is full of hamburgers, lazy poolside days, surfing, overly tanned people, and casting news. Each has their appeal, but none more so than news on what could be coming up this fall for our favorite shows. The summer casting season kicks off with the newest hero for NBC’s Monday night hit. NBC Universal has announced that Maya, one of the five new heroes joining the super team, has been cast.
The creators are keeping mum on what Maya’s powers are going to be. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dominican Republican-born Dania Ramirez has been added to the regular cast list, taking on the role. Maybe Maya’s power will be being self assertive and high in attitude. This isn’t Ramirez’s first crack at being a super hero, she played Callisto in the unfortunate X3: The Last Stand. At least this time she’ll have a chance to act in a good story.
Most recently the actress has been seen playing AJ’s former fiancée Blanca on HBO’s ‘Sopranos.’ This is the first casting news we’ve received about the five new heroes. Whether or not Maya is the only regular new hero remains to be seen. We’ll bring you news of the remaining characters for NBC's 'Heroes' as casting continues throughout the summer.
