The Chicago Code Preview: A Glimpse Of Shawn Ryan's New Cop Series
In just a few weeks (the Monday after the Super Bowl to be exact), Fox will premiere Shawn Ryan’s new police drama series The Chicago Code. We have a couple of clips from the show as well as a featurette on Ryan and the making of the show.
Ryan’s previous work includes The Shield and more recently, Terriers (may it rest in peace.) The Chicago Code was actually shot in Chicago and follows cop Jarek Wysocki (Jason Clarke), a successful and powerful cop in the city. Jennifer Beals plays Teresa Colvin, Jarek’s former partner and now the current superintendent. Teresa carries the weight of the city’s entire police force on her shoulders, while Jarek is out on the streets, trying to fight crime and hoping to avenge his brother’s murder.
One of the things I loved about Terriers was how real the characters, the setting and the story felt. While The Chicago Code looks like a completely different kind of show, I’m hoping to see the same kind of realism come through as the story develops. The featurette and clips below will give you a better idea of the look and feel of the series.
The Chicago Code premieres Monday, Feb. 7 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.
