No Chloe, No Watchy: Mary Lynn Rajskub Talks 24: Live Another Day And Her Character's Possible Return

Will Mary Lynn Rajskub return to her role as Chloe for the new season of 24? "I do not know yet," she told Conan O'Brien on Conan, when he raised the topic. "I have high hopes. I'm hoping to hear soon." We're hoping to hear soon as well! Jack Bauer is 24, so it's necessary that Kiefer Sutherland is returning, as it is that creator Howard Gordon is involved in the series' return for 24: Live Another Day. But as far as I'm concerned, Chloe is a part of Jack Bauer, figuratively speaking. She's the person on the other end of the line, getting stuff done at CTU while Jack's hanging by a thread somewhere. And she's probably the only character in existence that can be ruled out as a potential mole/secret-terrorist, aside from Bauer, of course. We love Chloe. We trust Chloe. We want Chloe!

On a related note, I love Rajskub's story about typing little affirmations to herself on her CTU computer. Those who know the actor best for playing Chloe on 24 may not be aware that she is actually also a comedian. That certainly comes through in her interview with Conan. She was visiting the show to plug the upcoming film Kings of Summer.

From the way Rajskub spoke about 24, it sounds like she's up to returning to the role, it's just a matter of making it official. I have to imagine that plans are in the works to get her on board, as I couldn't imagine why the writers wouldn't want Chloe around… unless they wanted Jack to be completely on his own. But we'll have to wait and see if and when she's locked in to join the 12-episode season, which is set to air on Fox next year.

No Chloe. No watchy.
