The College Dropout Hits HBO
I don’t think Kanye West has quite enough soapboxes to stand on, yet. In fact, I think that the public, the media, hell, society in general, should give him another one. How about network television? No, that won’t work. He uses too much foul language. How about a major motion picture? Sounds good, but New Line Cinema already has that in the works. I know! Get the director of ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ and ‘Borat’ and pitch it to HBO!
REUTERS reported that West will star in a “reality” show helmed by the famed director, Larry Charles. The show will take a look into the daily hectic life of the outspoken, rude rap superstar. Fortunately for Kanye, the director has already worked with a music icon. Bob Dylan. No comparison to West, really, but at least Charles has credibility.
I’ll be keeping a watch out for this Kanye West project. Why? Mainly because I know there probably won’t be an award show podium that he can crash in his everyday life. Although, I would not be surprised if he had one put in a room in house so he could practice being ungrateful and despicable. It sucks really (his personality) because I absolutely love his music. I’m sure that I’m not alone in thinking that his raps are witty, sarcastic, poignant and crisp, however his antics in the media aren’t attractive.
Regardless, it might be worth a DVR attempt or two, or maybe even a live watching, considering that HBO has no commercials. Hopefully, HBO won’t allow West within ten to fifteen miles of an award show podium. A fan can dream.
