Comedy Central Orders Lil' Bush For Next Year

Comedy Central has ordered six episodes of a cartoon based on President George W. Bush and members of his staff. If that doesn’t sound hilarious enough, the series portrays the administration as elementary school age kids. The show is Comedy Central’s second attempt to devote an entire series to satirizing the President (Matt Stone and Trey Parker developed ‘That’s My Bush’ for the cable channel back in 2001).

According to Reuters, the show will include lighthearted comedy such as Lil’ Condi (Condoleeza Rice) pining for Lil’ Bush. The creators won’t be shying away from controversial gags either. In one episode when falafel is served in the school cafeteria, Lil’ Bush and his buddies torture the employees using methods from the Abbu Ghraib scandal.

‘Lil’ Bush: Resident of the United States’ began as five-minute clips on wireless service Amp’d Mobile. The clips have also appeared on Youtube, where they’ve been viewed more than 230,00 times.

In small doses the clips are funny, but time will tell if writer-producer Donick Cary (‘The Simpsons’) will be able to balance biting satire and relevant political commentary as well as ‘South Park’ has.
