Comic Con: Live Blogging The Chuck Panel
I’m here in the second biggest room in Comic Con, Ballroom 20. Free wi-fi connection and battery life permitting, I’m going to be keeping you up to date on the slate of television panels happening today in this big-ass room. If you’re a fan of Chuck, Family Guy, The Cleveland Show, Futurama, The Simpsons (YES), True Blood, or the remake, reimagining, reboot, repoff of V, then I’m here for you. I live to serve and I’ll be serving it up today, you can be sure.
10:00am – He look, there is Ms. Incredible and really heavy set Star Trek girl. That’s not a good look for you, miss. They haven’t quite started the Chuck panel as the line to get in went out the door, down the street and ended somewhere near Santee (that’s a joke that will make sense to you San Diego folks.) It took about 40 minutes to go from my spot in line (in the far back) to the Ballroom. When the line gets in they will probably start. So now we are listening to announcements about asking “tasteful” questions. Good luck with that.
10:10 – It starts! A woman with the name card that says “Alan” is making an announcement. She thanks the crowd to “Save Chuck” and gets polite applause.
The panel starts with a video of the previous season’s highlights and then jumps to a video in Josh Schwartz’s office that shows Josh, Chris Fedak, and Zach Levi expecting the show to be cancelled. It’s hilarious. They have no idea what to do now that they’ve been picked up. They decide to send out “Jeffster”. They appear live on stage singing Fat Bottom Girls as the cast comes out. Standing O.
On season 3 vagueries, they say little but something “emotional” will happen between Chuck and Sarah. Chuck’s kung fu can’t happen “all the time” but how that’s going to happen is left unclear. His powers have a “glitch” and don’t last.
10:57am – Chuck panel is over. Sniff. There wasn’t much in the way of mind blowing scoops. There will be a website going live today called Chuckmeout.com that will have videos, interviews, links, etc for the Chuck fan in all of us.
Most questions about what will happen in Season 3 were answered with an “that’s a great idea” and Fedak writing the idea down (musical episode, Chuck loses the abilitiy to walk after doing Kung Fu, Chuck speaks a language.) They did say the Buy More would still be involved and Corrine is coming back, but other than that, some funny comments and not much meat.
