Common Law Preview: Michael Ealy And Warren Kole Man Up In USA's New Series

Next month, USA is set to premiere their new original series Common Law. Starring Michael Ealy and Warren Kole, the series follows two cops who begin couples therapy in an effort to sort out their differences. Check out the trailer for the series to get an idea of what’s in store.

USA thrives on quirky characters and mixing serious subjects with a lighter tone, and Common Law seems to follow the pattern there. The trailer below introduces us to Travis and Wes (Ealy and Kole), two detectives who do their jobs well but don’t always get along. Perhaps sharing their feelings in couples therapy will help them get through the “seven-year itch” phase of their work-relatinonship.

The trailer below, which is set to The Blue Van's "Man Up," offers a sampling of the work they do and the bickering that goes on along the way.

I recently got to visit the set of the series and meet some of the cast, including Ealy, Kole, Jack McGee and Sonya Walger, so expect more from us on this series as the premiere approaches!

Common Law premieres January 26th at 10:00 p.m. Et on USA.

Assistant Managing Editor

Kelly put her life-long love of movies, TV and books to greater use when she joined CinemaBlend as a freelance TV news writer in 2006, and went on to serve as the site’s TV Editor before joining the staff full-time in 2011 and moving over to other roles at the site. At present, she’s an Assistant Managing Editor who spends much of her time brainstorming and editing features, analyzing site data, working with writers and editors on content planning and the workflow, and (of course) continuing to obsess over the best movies and TV shows (those that already exist, and the many on the way). She graduated from SUNY Cortland with BA in Communication Studies and a minor in Cinema Studies. When she isn't working, she's probably thinking about work, or reading (or listening to a book), and making sure her cats are living their absolute best feline lives.
