New Cop In The Shield Comes From A Land Down Under
After writers killed off Detective Lemonhead Lemansky from Mackey’s strike team in FX’s ‘The Shield’, writers clearly felt a hunky Aussie would be the perfect fit to fill the void left by Lemansky. Australian actor Alex O’Loughlin will be the newest member of the cast, playing Kevin Hiatt, the new cop on the block.
There isn’t much to tell about O’Loughlin. Aside from being decidedly good looking (sorry, but its true) and Australian, he’s played a cop before in the film Man-Thing and on the other side of the coin, he played a suspect in the film Feed. Did I mention he’s good looking?
The show ‘The Shield’, while not being huge on the ratings-radar, has always been spoken highly of by loyal fans. The show’s been around for five seasons and it’s headed into a sixth so they must be doing something right.
Any ‘Shield’ fans out there care to weigh in? Will the show be the same without Lamansky? Do you think O’Loughlin will be a good addition to the cast?
