Is it bad that I’m developing a slight obsession with the idea of Corey Haim and Corey Feldman reuniting on a new reality show later this month? I can’t say I was all that in love with either of them back in the 80’s but there was definitely a time when I believed they were the height of cool and let’s face it, they kind of were.
Whether Feldman was going through his Michael Jackson phase or rockin’ the fedora look, he had it going on. Haim on the other hand, worked the boy-next-store look with a faint lisp and a lopsided grin, neither of which would’ve been considered all that manly today but hey, it was the 80’s! Then one day the magic wore off. Haim and Feldman’s stretch limo turned back into a pumpkin and the duo's relevance in pop culture became a mere memory, until now. The Corey's are back together and both are kind enough (read: desperate enough for a comeback) to allow A&E to film them as they reunite and go about their daily lives while living together.
I’m predicting the show will fall under the “so bad its good” category, similar to some of the other celebrity reality shows (‘Growing Up Gotti,’ ‘The Osbournes,’ ‘The Newlyweds,’ etc) but I will reserve full judgment until I’ve had the chance to watch the first episode.
The series will premiere on Sunday, July 29 at 10:00 p.m. on A&E. In the meantime, here are a couple promos for the series.
