Daniel Dae Kim To Star In Hawaii Five-O Remake

While Lost may be coming to an end, it seems Daniel Dae Kim, who plays Jin in the ABC series, has found another TV role. It was recently announced that Kim’s been signed to play the starring role in the Hawaii Five-0 remake.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Kim has been cast to play Detective Chin Ho Kelly, which was played by Kam Fong in the original series. The role of Detective Steve McGarrett has yet to be cast, though rumor has it, Alex O’Loughlin (Moonlight) is in talks for the part.

Kim’s involvement in this new role seems fitting for a number of reasons. For one thing, Lost is filmed in Hawaii and I’m guessing that’s where Hawaii Five-0’s going to be filmed. This part will also keep him tied to the Abrams-verse as the feature writers on the Five-0 remake are Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, both of whom have worked on a number of projects with Lost creator J.J. Abrams, including Fringe, Alias and the recent Star Trek film.
