Daredevil Season 2 Trailer: Watch Elektra Team Up With The Man With No Fear
Marvel’s Daredevil will officially hit the schedule in just a few short weeks, and the subscription streaming service has been working really hard to keep the show’s profile up in the time being. We’ve already gotten the first part of the official Daredevil trailer, but Netflix has actually made this one a 2-parter. You can check out Part 2 of the trailer, which focuses on Elektra, below.
We’ve known Elektra would be coming to the series for a long while, but the trailer is the first one to really focus on the character and her motivations. The promo makes it clear that she is already well aware of who Matt Murdock/ Daredevil is before she decides to team up with the character (she knew him back in college). While we have seen Elektra before, thanks to other Netflix promos, the trailer Part 2 shows that Elektra teams up with Daredevil because he’s “the best fighter” she’s ever been privy to. They’re set to tackle a force that has been waiting in the wings as Daredevil takes on various foes. How this will intertwine with the fact that the Punisher is going to be a part of Season 2 is still unclear, but it has us sitting up and paying attention.
The additions of the Punisher and Elektra (played by Jon Bernthal and Elodie Yung) have been big news for nearly a year now, and we know that the creative team decided to add both of them for their specific takes on justice. The Punisher sees the world only in black and white and Elektra sees plenty of shades of grey within that black and white. Although a lot of the stuff we’ve seen from Elektra and Punisher has been pretty vague, I kind of like that we don’t know exactly where Daredevil Season 2 is going.
If you haven’t caught Part 1 of the trailer, the tone is very different thanks to its focus on The Punisher. Matt Murdock is in a lot more danger in that one, too, and at one point his mask seems to be split. Give it a watch, below.
Daredevil is expected to return to the schedule on Friday, March 18, starting at 12:01 a.m. PT on Netflix. If you’d like to know more about what is coming up in Daredevil Season 2, please be sure to check out what we know. In addition, here’s what else the subscription streaming service has coming up in 2016.
