Deal Or No Deal Headed To A Galaxy Far Far Away

Right now, in the world of game shows, it’s all about people confessing their dirty secrets on Fox’s Moment of Truth. Personally, I don’t have the stomach for that so I stick with shows like Deal or No Deal when I’m looking for a bit of mindless entertainment. I know there’s no real skill involved with the show but I think it’s the simplicity of it (and that crazy way they build up the tension as the cases are opened) that makes it entertaining for me. Plus, who doesn’t love Howie Mandel? Anyway, my game show preferences are hardly relevant here. The real news is that at the end of the month, Deal or No Deal will be airing a special Star Wars themed episode.
Set to air on Monday, April 28th (8 p.m. EST), the episode will include appearances by Star Wars star, Carrie Fisher, R2D2 and Chewbacca. Darth Vader takes over for the banker. And of course, there will be some major Star Wars theming going on with the case girls. Think Storm Troopers and Leias dressed in the infamous slave bikini get-up.
Unlike the normal format for the show, this two-hour episode will feature two contestants who will duel for the grand prize. Each contestant will play their own individual game and in the end, the person with the highest winnings will take both prizes. This should definitely have an impact on the players’ strategies as it wont just be about going for the million this time around.
