Defiance Gets A New Trailer, And Watch The First 14 Minutes Of The Series Premiere

In less than a month, Syfy will debut their new series Defiance, a sci-fi TV drama that's paired with a video game, giving fans the opportunity to explore the story from two different mediums. The latest trailer focuses on the "town" of Defiance, a location set in what's left of St. Louis at some point in the near future after a universal war has left the landscape altered and mankind co-existing with aliens in a newly built society. If the series looks half as exciting as the trailer, I think we're in for something really great.

Executive produced and run by Kevin Murphy (Caprica, Desperate Housewives), with Michael Taylor and Rockne O'Bannon serving as executive producers, Defiance stars Grant Bowler, Julie Benz, Stephanie Leonidas, Tony Curran, Jaime Murray, Graham Green and Mia Kirshner. Between the talent on screen and in the writer's room, not to mention the interesting premise and - from what we're seeing in the trailers - some great special effects, costumes and make-up, i'm really hopeful that Defiance will live up to its potential.

The latest trailer offers a little bit of everything, with teases of human drama, war, sex, and aliens, and a motivational speech from Julie Benz's character Amanda Rosewater. We also get a glimpse of some intense looking alien battle scenes.

If the trailers aren't enough, and you're ready for more, Syfy has generously offered the first 14 minutes of the series premiere for us to watch ahead of the premiere.

Defiance premieres April 15 at 9/8c on Syfy. Learn more about the show and the video game here
