Dexter Season 8 Teaser Recalls The Dearly Departed

The above teaser takes a simple but chilling approach in revisiting some familiar names as it promotes the upcoming eighth season of Dexter. Dexter isn't directly responsible for the deaths of all of the people referenced, but it's safe to say he played his part, whether he wanted to or not. When all is said and done, Dexter's body count is high, and as the teaser indicates, "They're done. He's not."
EW shared the new teaser, which comes just a few months ahead of Dexter's Season 8 premiere. Note that the last name to splash across that bloody water was Maria LaGuerta. Though the teaser does little to hint about the series' eighth and possibly final season, the name of Dexter and Deb's now deceased boss is certainly a reminder of how things left off when Season 7 wrapped up. The likelihood that LaGuerta's death will be brushed under the carpet by everyone who knew her seem slim. So it'll be interesting to see what kind of condition Dexter and Deb are in, both together and individually.
Dexter is making an early return this year, with a June 30 premiere that's paired with the debut of Showtime's new drama Ray Donovan. While that's about three months off, we're already starting to hear casting news that offers some clues as to what's ahead for the serial killer drama.
