Diego Klattenhoff Cast In Showtime's Homeland

The cast of Showtime’s upcoming series Homeland just grew by one. Word is, Canadian actor Diego Klattenhoff has been brought on board to play Damian Lewis’ character’s best friend.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Klattenhoff will play Marine colonel Mike Faber, the best friend of Scott Brody (Lewis) in Homeland. The drama series, which also stars Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin and Laura Fraser, follows Scott Brody, a man who returns from Iraq after being held as a prisoner of war and is suspected of harboring “anti-American, jihadis tendencies.”

Klattenhoff’s previous credits include Mercy, Men in Trees and the role of Shane in Mean Girls. He also played a small role in 24’s seventh season, which connects him with Homeland’s executive producers (adapting the series from Israeli TV’s Prisoners of War) Howard Gordon and Alex Gansa, both of whom are 24 veterans.
