Doctor Who Series 7.5 Trailer Teases Adventure And Fear
"I am the Doctor. And I am afraid."
Well, that can't be good! Doctor Who returns for the second half of its seventh series later this month, and will resume the introduction of the Doctor's new companion Clara Oswald (Jenna-Louise Coleman). What's her deal? Clara is something of a mystery, as it was revealed in the 2012 Christmas special (spoilers if you haven't seen it yet!) "The Snowmen" that she died twice. Her first appearance in the series was actually in "Asylum of the Daleks" as Oswin Oswald, in which she presumably died when the prison was destroyed. She's then re-introduced to us as a new character in "The Snowmen." Of course, it turned out that it wasn't simply a matter of the same actor playing a new role, which does happen from time to time in television, but the same character in a new scenario and time. We should have expected nothing less from Doctor Who!
Since Coleman's return in "The Snowmen", we've been left to wonder what her story is, and apparently, so has the Doctor. Unravelling the mystery of Clara appears to be the theme of these upcoming episodes, based on what the trailer (via Deadline) reveals. It's definitely not a comforting sight to see the Doctor afraid, that's for sure!
Doctor Who comes from Steven Moffat and stars Matt Smith as the current Doctor. The series resumes on BBC America March 30 with "The Bells of Saint John."
