Docudrama Nashville Confidential Greenlighted At TNT
TNT may know drama, period, but the network is also into reality and will highlight the push toward more reality programming with a new docudrama called Nashville Confidential. While the title makes the reality series sound like a Nashville-based cop drama, the series will actually take a look at the music business in the famed city.
The unscripted series is coming from the production company behind The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Evolution Media, and will be executive produced by Alex Baskin, Douglas Ross, and Greg Stewart. TNT’s newest project will follow some of Nashville’s biggest musical power couples, although those couples have not been announced yet. What we do know is that series will launch in early 2014 and has earned an 8-episode order, which is pretty standard for new unscripted programs at the network.
Nashville Confidential is not the first time a reality program has been greenlighted on TNT, although the network is still fairly new to the reality game. The network has been branching out into more reality television of late, including Boston’s Finest, Cold Justice, The Hero, and 72 Hours.
Ultimately, the quality and success of this program will likely come down to the talent the network is able to secure. If we get Carrie Underwood and her Nashville Predators player husband Mike Fisher, I’d expect big things. If we get a bunch of bums we’ve never heard of before, it may well be a smooth fest. We’ll keep you updated on the details as Nashville Confidential moves forward at the network.
