E! Exploits Expired Ex-Stripper
People love Anna Nicole Smith. It probably comes from some inherent Marilyn Monroe withdrawal symptoms; however, I’ve never found the comparison particularly valid. Sure, they’re both busty bombshells with little to say, but Arthur Miller’s former wife was at least a somewhat talented actress. Anna Nicole was just a gold digger with big tits and a dog named “Sugarpie.” I’m not saying that I didn’t love her as much as everyone else (because I did). I’m just not sure why. Whatever the reason, this week proved that she holds as much pull from the grave as she did in life.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, E!’s special, ‘The Life And Death Of Anna Nicole’, drew the entertainment channel’s highest ratings for a Monday in almost four years. In all, 875,000 people felt the need to tune in and watch the three hour special. Some websites would lie and tell you that these near million people were spread across the country; however, an inside source has revealed exclusively to Cinema Blend that all the viewers were, in fact, from South Dakota (roughly 99.6% of their entire population).
If you were one of the unfortunate 299 million Americans who missed out on this gem, I’m happy to report that E! will rerun it ad nauseam for the next month and a half until they figure out a new way to capitalize on the slutty ex-stripper’s death. How beautiful.
