Eastbound & Down Renewed For Season 4

HBO continues to dole out the good news this week. Yesterday, we shared the news that the pay cable network had renewed True Blood for Season 6 and the brand new Aaron Sorkin drama The Newsroom for a second season. And now comes word that Eastbound & Down will be return for another season next year.
The Hollywood Reporter posted the update, stating that the Danny McBride starring comedy series has been renewed for Season 4. HBO has picked up the show for an additional eight episodes, which are expected to air sometime next year.
Produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, Eastbound & Down is a comedy that stars McBride as a former pro-baseball player in the market for a comeback. As THR notes, it was rumored that the show would be finished after Season 3, but it looks like HBO is feeling optimistic about the comedy series, which is probably a lot more than we can say about plenty of other comedies on the network. Rather than going the way of Bored to Death, which was cancelled back in December after its third season, it looks like Eastbound will be around for more, joining Veep and Girls among the renewed comedies for HBO this year.
Eastbound isn't the only thing keeping McBride busy these days. He's also credited to lend his voice to the animated comedy feature Hell & Back, and he's listed as playing Danny McBride in Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen's upcoming film The End of the World.
