Elementary Season 2 Premiere To Film In London
Holmes is heading home for Season 2 of Elementary! CBS announced today that their popular Sherlock Holmes detective series is headed to London for the second season premiere episode. And not a U.S. or Canadian set version of London, but the real deal! The Season 2 premiere will be filmed in London starting in July. This will be the first time the drama is being shot anywhere outside of New York.
We learned back in March that Elementary was among the CBS shows to receive an early renewal for next season. And given the show's ratings, that wasn't a surprise. The Season 2 premiere will take viewers across the pond to see Sherlock's hometown and get better insight into his past. And from the sound of it, this will also allow Watson to get to know Sherlock even better.
Elementary is a modern-day take on Arthur Conan Doyle's classic character, Sherlock Holmes. Jonny Lee Miller plays Holmes, who's British, though he relocated to New York after a visit to rehab to deal with his substance abuse issues. The series has him doing what he does best, which is solving cases and blowing everyone's minds with his genius. He's also trying to maintain his sobriety. Lucy Liu plays Dr. Joan Watson, Holmes' sober companion and partner in crime-solving. The series is set to wrap up its very successful first season with a two-hour finale on Thursday, May 16 at 9:00 p.m.
Before that, Natalie Dormer will make her first appearance in the series tonight. EW spoke with the Game of Thrones actor about her role as Irene Adler in Elementary. Read all about that here.
