Ellen Video: Ellen DeGeneres Reads Fifty Shades Of Grey... With Props

If you're an English-speaking female, there's a good chance you've at least heard of E.L. James' steamy novel Fifty Shades of Grey. What originated as Twilight fan-fiction evolved into its own story, which went on to become a New York Times best seller, and will eventually be made into a movie. Ellen DeGeneres had a bit of fun with the concept of the book in a segment that aired during yesterday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Check it out ahead!
Ellen DeGeneres voicing an audiobook is something I can picture. But Ellen serving as the voice behind the sexual exploits of Ana and Christian Grey doesn't quite work in theory. In fact, it's actually pretty funny in reality. In this funny segment featured on her talk show yesterday (via EW), Ellen explored a scenario that might have her reading the audiobook for the sexually explicit, S&M themed story Fifty Shades of Grey. Spoiler alert, Ellen's version may be partially improviseed, and includes props.
"I don't think you should use a spatula for that. If you go to Anastasia's house, don't eat the pancakes everybody. Do not eat the pancakes!"
Her unwillingness to read certain words, and enthusiasm at making paddle sounds and jingling chains certainly adds a nice Ellen-touch to the story. If they are doing an audiobook for Fifty Shades, she has my vote.
