Emma Roberts Joins American Horror Story: Coven

Emma Roberts is no stranger to horror. The 22-year-old actor, who began to make a name for herself with roles in Nancy Drew and Nickelodeon's Unfabulous, played a starring role in Scream 4. With Fox passing on the Delirium pilot, that leaves Roberts available to pursue other TV projects, and it looks like she's found one with a role in the anticipated third season of American Horror Story, subtitled Coven.
THR says Roberts has been tapped to play a "party girl" role in the new season of the FX horror-drama. Beyond that, no details have been given about how her part factors into the series. Is it a big role? Or is she going to be Season 3's Adam Levine, in that we'll all get excited to see her, and then she'll barely be around. We'll have to wait and see. If Levine's role proved one thing it's that minimal screen time doesn't necessarily mean a forgettable role. Right now, details about the third season are slim in general, though we know there will be a witch theme.
Roberts joins recently cast Patti Lupone, Angela Bassett and Gabourey Sidibe in AHS: Coven, as well as Kathy Bates and returners Taissa Farmiga, Lily Rabe, Evan Peters, Sarah Paulson and Jessica Lange.
As mentioned, Roberts was set to star in the potential Delirium pilot, but Fox opted not to give the adaptation of Lauren Oliver's books a series order. Her other recent credits include Empire State, Adult World and Funny or Die's The Girl with the Tramp Stamp Tattoo parody video.
