Episodes Season 2 Preview: Matt LeBlanc's Truly Hollywood Story
After Matt LeBlanc's Golden Globe win for Showtime's Episodes, it's not really a surprise that the pay-cable network would continue to push the actor front and center for the promos for the comedy series. As the fictional version of himself, LeBlanc can play up some of the things he's known for, particularly his Friends fame. This applies to the recently released promo for Episodes Season 2, which spoofs E!'s True Hollywood Story.
This is a "Truly Hollywood" story, not to be confused with E!'s popular celebrity-focused series. The promo for Episodes focuses mainly on Matt LeBlanc, including some of the things he was up to in Season 1, and where his story is headed in the second season. That includes stalkers, Friends and… "butter."
It wasn't difficult to make sense of the bleeped out words, which takes that "butter" joke to a "yuck" sort of place. But that's Episodes' Matt LeBlanc! I'm actually more interested to see what kind of relationship he forms with his stalker, as implied in the video above.
As much as I appreciate LeBlanc's performance playing himself in the comedy series, I'm also really looking forward to seeing Setephen Mangan and Tamsin Greig reprise their roles as Sean and Beverly Lincoln. Their attempts to adapt to Hollywood culture while also trying to adapt their TV show for an American audience are a bit part of what i loved about the first season.
Episodes Season 2 premieres July 1 at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT on Showtime.
