Extended Alphas Preview: Syfy's Drama Series About Amateur Heroes

Syfy released an extended preview of their upcoming series Alphas. The video, which is nearly nine minutes long, includes clips from the series, as well as comments from the cast and writers.

Alphas follows a group of people with extraordinary abilities due to brain anomalies. Led by a psychologist/neurologist working at the Defense Criminal Investigation Service of the U.S. Department of Defense, this team of ordinary people work together to solve crimes that are suspected to be committed by other Alpha-people. That’s the general premise, anyway. The video below definitely digs deeper into the plot and the individual characters.

Executive producer Ira Steven Behr says this is a story about “amateur heroes as opposed to people who set out to be heroes,” which I think is one of the more interesting sounding elements of the series. You get a sense of the normality of the characters in some of the clips shown in the video below.

Alphas premieres Monday, July 11th at 10/9c only on Syfy.
