FOX Has A Conscience???

It can’t be, it just can NOT be true. According to TV.com, FOX has scrapped their sweeps special about O.J. Simpson.

The scandalous program was titled ‘O.J. Simpson: If I Did It, Here’s How It Happened.’ The idea was for O.J. to explain how he would have killed his former wife and her friend, if he were the killer. Come on FOX. Seriously.

When news of the show’s airing hit the media, an outcry followed, public and professional. FOX News employees Bill O’Reilly and Geraldo Rivera spoke out against the show on air. Some FOX affiliates expressed disgust at being associated with the network. So, in a public-relations saving maneuver, FOX cancelled the show.

FOX is set up to lose big bucks on the project, as they should. A book was in the works and was to be released one week after the show aired. They also filmed 4 hours of an exclusive interview with O.J. Simpson, which will now not air.

The publisher, Judith Regan, defended her publishing company by saying that she was doing the public a service. In her eyes, this was a confession and apology. Clearly, it wasn’t an attempt to make money from a dead subject. The world experienced O.J. Simpson thoroughly over a decade ago. For shame, Regan, for shame.

Thankfully, nobody will have to endure the interview with O.J. and his potential confession. That type of television is what brings the national intelligence quotient down. Thank you, FOX, for getting smart and pulling it.
