FX Cancels Terriers

Yet another critically loved and underwatched show cut down in its prime, Terriers has been cancelled by FX, according to Deadline. The show averaged only 970,000 viewers weekly, making it FX's lowest-rated freshman series ever, and all signs were pointing to its cancellation even early into its run.

We were only one of many websites and bloggers begging our readers to watch the show, which starred Donal Logue and Michael Raymond-James as private detectives; TV editor Kelly West wrote that the show was "funny and dark and clever and offers an alternative to so many other more predictable, less intelligent series on TV today." Now it will be yet another one of those special shows beloved by too few, cancelled before it could reach the audience it deserved. Following Fox's Lone Star, cancelled after just a few episodes earlier this fall, it's been a bad TV season for those kinds of casualties.
