FX Says They Want A Revolution

FX is currently in the process of developing a new drama series called AR2, which stands for America Revolution (2) and will center on a bunch of college students who start the second American Revolution. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Prison Break creator Paul Scheuring and The West Wing director/exec producer Thomas Schlamme are working with FX to put this series together.

AR2 will center on a group of Midwestern youths who get fed up on getting picked on by the man and decide to fight back. “It is set in Michigan, home of the top U.S. automakers, where ‘corporations undermine the common man and the government is not interested in helping (the common man)’ Scheuring said. ” The show will show both sides of the revolution between the college kids and the military and law enforcers that they’re up against.

The concept of this new series is intriguing. While the idea of a bunch of college students picking a cause and running with it isn’t all that original on the surface, the idea of them actually taking it to a real revolutionary level could make for a great story. Plus, this is FX so I think we can expect some great personal drama thrown in to mix things up while this little war plays out.
