Fatone Gets Stung By Bad TV Bee
It’s pretty tough to get world-renowned now-a-days with everyone being so hot, and Hollywood being weary of outsiders, but it’s even harder to stay famous. If you don’t believe me, just ask William Hung, Scott Baio, or whoever played Lisa on ‘Saved By The Bell.’ Earlier this year, former N’Sync hottie Joey Fatone (not the one that wanted to go to space) launched himself back onto the cultural radar by nearly winning ‘Dancing With The Stars.’ It now appears, he’s ready to trade in his dancing shoes for a third career: game show host.
According to Variety, Fatone has agreed to take up the M.C. position on NBC’s new lyric-remembering money grab ‘The Singing Bee.’ Probably the most note-worthy thing about this future cancellation is its similarity to cancer. At first it will be a whirwind of excitement, jaws will drop and people will wonder how to deal with the new phenomenon. After a few episodes, the encapsulating and life-changing horror will begin to settle in, causing feelings of depression and anger. Eventually, the program will run its course, slowly drifting toward Hell surrounded only be family members and a few close friends who were unable to come up with a good enough excuse to leave.
For those of you that still care, the game show premieres on July 10th. I’ll probably give it a chance; however, I’m not expecting anything different than what was mentioned in the last paragraph. It’s win win! Either I’m hailed as a visionary who accurately predicted its destruction weeks in advance, or I’m wrong and America gets a new worthwhile show. (Writers Note: For all of you gamblers out there, I highly suggest you pick the former option. The latter will only result in a possible toe-amputation by angry bookies.)
