Fear Factor Returns To NBC This December
The absence of new episodes of Fear Factor on network television ends this December. NBC has set a date for the series’ return, and promises that the show will be even more challenging and competitive than ever.
Fear Factor is a competition series that has people facing their fears in an effort to win some cash. The series went off the air five years ago, but NBC is bringing it back. The series is set to premiere the week after The Sing Off wraps up, and will make its grand return on Monday, December 12th at 8:00 p.m. ET. According to NBC’s announcement, advancements in technology since the series’ previously aired will allow for new stunts, including the “Towering Inferno” and “Helicopter TNT Crash.”
Each episode of the series will have four teams of two facing off by participating in challenges, which can be anything from scary physical stunts to gross tasks no one would want to participate in without some kind of incentive (in this case, money). The winning team of the final challenge takes home $50,000 and stories to share with their friends about the ridiculous things they allowed themselves to be subjected to for money.
December’s a great time for this series, as TV shows have or are beginning to drive into hiatus before midseason gets going, and families are beginning to gather for the holidays. What better way to spend some quality family-time than by watching people eat live bugs?
