The Firm Series Premiere Preview: NBC's New Drama Premieres Sunday Night
Set to make it’s series premiere on a special night this weekend is NBC’s The Firm, a TV drama based on John Grisham novel and subsequent film from the ’90’s. The new drama takes the story into the present with a ten-years-later scenario that follows Mitchell McDeere and his family as they leave witness protection to reclaim their lives.
If you read or saw The Firm, you may remember that the story followed a young attorney who helped the FBI take down a prestigious but corrupt Memphis law firm with ties to the mob. The NBC series takes the story forward a decade, where Mitchell and his wife have a young daughter and are hoping the past is safely behind them. Of course, that may not be the case. Beyond the back-story, which is likely to carry over to the series, this also appears to be a legal drama of sorts as Mitchell is a practicing criminal attorney.
Below are a few clips from the two-hour series premiere, which airs this Sunday night (January 8th at 9:00 p.m.), after which the show moves to Thursdays at 10:00 p.m. (beginning January 12th). The videos offer a sample of some of the tension in the series, as well as a look at the cast, which includes Josh Lucas, Molly Parker, Juliette Lewis, and two of Battlestar Galactica’s Cylons: Callum Keith Rennie (Two), and Tricia Helfer (Six).
