The First Fuller House Pictures Are Here And Have Mercy!
Fuller House has been coming together for what feels like forever but has actually been less than a year. In recent months, the cast has been cemented on the new series, a lot of the original team is coming back, and we’ve even gotten a teaser trailer taking us back to San Francisco. The nostalgia is going to be strong with this one, as evidenced by the new photos Netflix released related to the series today. If you want to take a look at how the cast looks all these years later, we’ve got you covered:
On the left, hugging in a cute cluster are Stephanie, DJ and Kimmy, who will be played by the same actresses who took on the roles as kids, Jodie Sweetin, Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber. On the couch are Joey (Dave Coulier), Jesse (John Stamos), Jesse’s wife Becky (Lori Loughlin) and Tanner patriarch Danny (Bob Saget). Apparently sometime over the last several years Danny Tanner got remarried, and while I don’t see his wife in the picture, here, we do already know what she looks like, at least.
This setup might seem a little weird for a show following the grown-up versions of characters who became famous in a nineties sitcom that aired on ABC. However, Netflix has that covered thanks to a clever premise for Fuller House. The series will follow DJ who is a widowed mom and who still lives in San Francisco. Her best pal growing up, Kimmy, is also a single mom with her own daughter. Stephanie will be around, as well, in order to help out with the child rearing. Shenanigans will ensue, and apparently Kimmy will still be making the same poor fashion choices.
Yeah, that's right, she's wearing an oddly printed skirt with a wild blue shirt and a barrette in her hair that is so throwback I can't handle it. I fully expect Fuller House to be a completely family-friendly throwback nineties-era comedy and I'm embracing it as much as Kimmy Gibbler is embracing that ridiculous outfit, bless her.
Recently, we learned that Fuller House is actually going to hit the schedule soon. Like other Netflix programs, every episode will be available to binge-watch, and you can do just that starting on Friday, February 26 at 12:01 a.m. PT. You can also take a look at what else the network have coming up with our full midseason TV schedule.
If you’d like to check out the rest of the Fuller House images, pop over to the second page. I have no idea why Kimmy and Stephanie are going out, but I totally dig that DJ is the responsible one staying home with the kids, from the look of this picture. Maybe Steve will be able to come over and help babysit?
Although we know that all the ladies are grown-ups now and we also know that they all have kids, it’s still a little jarring to see DJ and think of her as a mom without a partner.
