The Flash Video Reveals Barry Allen's Big Awakening

Post by The Flash.

CW has given us a new look at the highly anticipated Arrow spinoff The Flash, which is lined up for a Fall premiere. The new video gives us a look at Barry's gasping reentry into the world of the conscious after months in a coma following a life-altering chemical explosion. How does Barry react to this situation? Just as you might expect the Flash to react. He runs!

"Can I keep the sweatshirt?"

I like him already.

For Arrow fans, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) is hardly a stranger. The brainy scientist was introduced midway through the second season of Arrow. He dropped by Starling, helped out, flirted with Felicity and then returned to his Central City lab, where he was promptly blasted into a coma-ville by the mentioned chemical explosion, which was caused by a lightning strike. More on that in a minute.

We knew Barry would wake up sooner or later. The Flash's official pick-up guaranteed that, and this new video, which has Tom Cavanagh talking about the situation these characters are in, shows Barry wake up and be tended to by Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes). They're eager to study him. Barry just wants to leave. And he wants to keep the sweatshirt.

In The Flash, Tom Cavanagh plays Harrison Wells, the brains behind S.T.A.R. Labs. We know from the official synopsis that Wells has suffered a pretty major career setback, as it was his invention that caused the freak lightning storm. The silver lining to this seemingly career-ending catastrophe is the Flash. After nine months in a coma, Barry wakes up with the power of super speed. He soon discovers he's not the only meta-human created by the storm. So not only should we expect to see him come to grips with his impressive speed, but he'll also need to embrace his inner hero to protect the people of Central City.

It's exciting that CW has released a new glimpse at the pilot for this series. Hopefully that's an indication that the network will be doling out even more previews between now and the Fall. In the meantime, there's also Arrow star Stephen Amell's Facebook page to keep an eye on. Here's a recent video posted by Amell, showing off his superhero workout!

Getting pumped for Season 3! Arrow and The Flash! Not to wish the summer away or anything, but is anyone else ready for for the Fall?
