Fox Announces 2011-2012 Primetime Schedule: X Factor Takes Over, Terra Nova Premieres, And More
Fox has announced their primetime schedule for the 2011-2012 season, built around the expected returning hits Glee, Raising Hope, House and Bones, and featuring of course the hugely anticipated new singing show The X Factor. Terra Nova, the recently delayed sci-fi series, will share Monday nights with the stalwart hit House, and The X-Factor will occupy the Wednesday and Thursday night blocks we're used to seeing American Idol-- X Factor and Idol will swap places when the spring 2012 season kicks off.
There are two new comedies on the schedule, the Zooey Deschanel-starring New Girl and I Hate My Teenage Daughter, a sitcom starring Jaime Pressly and Katie Finneran as two moms raising "mean girl" daughters. And nerds are going to have some serious choices to make on Friday nights, as Fringe will be staying at 9 p.m. on Friday, opposite NBC's new fairy tale-tinged drama Grimm.
During the midseason keep an eye out for Alcatraz, the new mysterious drama from Lost creator J.J . Abrams, and The Finder, which will air in the Bones post-Idol spot on Thursdays when Bones star Emily Deschanel goes on maternity leave. Fox also mentioned during a conference call that when Glee takes its winter hiatus it will be temporarily replaced by two more half-hour comedies, which could be a time slot switch for I Hate My Teenage Daughter or one of the other shows they currently have in the works.
Check out the full schedule below, and come back later today for our full preview articles about all these new shows we're expecting from FOX.
