Fox Cancels Terra Nova's May Preview
Well, if you were looking forward to the Terra Nova preview, which was scheduled to air this May, there’s bad news. Fox announced today that there will no longer be a spring preview for the upcoming family adventure series, and that the show wil premiere this fall.
Terra Nova is described as an “epic family adventure 85 million years in the making.” The series follows a family that journeys back in time to the prehistoric days and are tasked to help save the human race. From the sound of it, it’s a great big do-over for mankind. Fox planned to air a two-night preview in May, however, they announced today that Terra Nova will make its official launch this fall.
“TERRA NOVA is one of the most ambitious television series ever produced,” said Kevin Reilly, President of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company. “The cutting-edge visual effects used to create the world of TERRA NOVA, which is of massive scope and scale, require more time to be realized. This aspect of the series is essential, so we are pushing back the special early preview date to give the visual effects team the time needed for their ground-breaking work.”
More time to make it look good is certainly a reasonable excuse for a delay. Given the kind of show it is, special effects will be key.
The season finale of THE CHICAGO CODE will now air Monday, May 23 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), and the season finale of GLEE will now air Tuesday, May 24 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT)
