Frances Conroy Signs On For Jenna Elfman Pilot Bad Mom
It’s truly a testament to Six Feet Under that so many of its stars have gone on to anchor other successful television programs. Lead Peter Krause is currently crushing on NBC’s Parenthood, Michael C. Hall has been nominated for numerous awards for his portrayal of a serial killer on Dexter, Jeremy Sisto toplined Law & Order for awhile and now Frances Conroy has picked up a role on ABC’s upcoming comedy Bad Mom. She had been working steadily since Six Feet Under went off the air in 2005, but hopefully this will provide some stability for the wonderful character actress.
According to Deadline, Conroy will portray the main character’s mother, an overworked and irritated grandmother who tells her daughter enough is enough and she’ll need to start raising her own kids. Former Dharma And Greg star Jenna Elfman will play the title bad mother. One can expect a rather contentious relationship between the two women.
With Jenna Elfman and now Frances Conroy attached, Bad Mom should have a pretty reasonable chance of being picked up to series by ABC. The show was created by comedienne Sharon Horgan, who will also play a supporting role on the program. She’s not exactly a household name here in the States, but her last comedy for the BBC, Pulling, was nominated for a slew of awards. Let’s hope she’s got a little more left in the tank.
